Every Wednesday, the Green River Kiwanis club of Evansville gathers for their weekly meetings. But Wednesday's meeting looked a little different.
"We are so fortunate, our members are loving and caring," says Vice President, Martha Seal.
The organization celebrated its 55th anniversary at the Epworth United Methodist Church and invited many special guests to join. Many past GRK presidents, International Board Members, and Executive Directors stopped in, to join the celebration.
The Celebration began with a brief history of the club. The Organization charted in April 1966 with 27 males, eventually admitting women in 1987.
Members then shared their favorite memories and accomplishments throughout the years. Past President, Don Johnson told 44News, his favorite memory is raising $35,000 for Riley Children's Hospital.
Nearly 30 members participated via zoom and 100 members/guests attended the celebration in person.
