A young girl is recovering in the hospital after a shooting that happened in Henderson, Kentucky on Monday.
According to the GoFundMe page created for the child, she was at the gas station with her mom in Henderson when a gunshot rang out, hitting her while she was in her car seat.
The little girl, whose name is Phoenix, will now need emergency surgery and likely physical therapy, according to the fundraiser.
The child’s father, Jon Lindsey, says the bullet grazed her right leg and went through her left leg.
“She’s going to have a long road to recovery and needs lots of prayers,” Lindsey says. "There's an investigation going on. I don't know if they've made progress yet, I should be hearing from a detective probably at some time today or tomorrow.”
Anyone with more information on the shooting is being asked to call HPD at 270-831-1295, or the Henderson Crime Stoppers at 270-831-1111.
