They're out of quarantine now, but the dreaded scourge of Coronavirus visited the Evansville men's basketball team a week and a half ago, right in the heart of their Missouri Valley Conference schedule, forcing them to halt all athletic activities and go into quarantine . Not something any athlete or coach ever looks forward to.

The news came right after getting swept on the road in Peoria by Bradley , a pair of players testing positive for COVID-19. That denied the players and coaches the opportunity to wash the bad taste in their mouths left by a 3-game losing streak .

Now the team is back, looking to make up for lost time on the practice floor.

"Not something I've envisioned or prepared for," said Head Coach Todd Lickliter. "Believe me, in the middle of the season. Although you don't want it to happen, the health of your student-athletes and your staff and everyone is of the utmost importance. We had a couple positives, but everyone else remained negative. We did stay away from each other. We didn't practice for a week. Even though we did the contact tracing, because we had traveled together, we just thought it was prudent not to. So we got together in small groups for a couple days and just sort of reacclimated. And everybody will be back together now."

"It's totally different", said senior forward Noah Frederking. "Never gone through something like that. You're just sitting out. You take it day by day. We haven't really been doing much. We just got back today. First full go practice with everybody back, so it's really good to come back, knock some of that rust off, but we'll be ready come Sunday."

Now the Coronavirus maybe gone from the Aces program, but still it has effected the UE men's schedule. They'll play a rare Sunday-Monday series against Valparaiso. The Missouri Valley Conference also announced earlier Thursday that they'll be making up last week's missed game against Indiana State February 17th in Terre Haute.

Temperatures were a heck of a lot more bearable earlier this afternoon - despite our northwesterly winds, temperatures peaked at 54° in Evansville earlier on and are expected to remain quite comfortable as we head into the evening hours. Expect temperatures ranging from 48° to 41° between 7 PM and 10 PM; though the added cloud cover over the coming hours will only allow temperatures to fall as low as 38° by early Wednesday morning. It's not all good news however, it looks as though some of us (especially those north of the Ohio River) could see periods of scattered rainfall throughout our Wednesday morning.
