A theft/hit-and-run investigation is being conducted by the Evansville Police Department after an incident that took place at the Donut Bank on Diamond Avenue.
According to EPD, officers were dispatched to the bakery around 5:30 a.m on April 8 after receiving a call about a theft and a hit-and-run.
The victim, who was purchasing doughnuts at the time of the theft, told police that he saw the man seen in the photos above steal several items and walk out of the store.
EPD says that's when the caller confronted the accused thief in the parking lot about the theft.
After a brief confrontation, EPD says the suspect jumped into the passenger side of a white car, at which point a female driver sped off from the parking lot, running over the victim's foot in the process.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has more information on the incident should call EPD's Hit and Run Unit at 812-436-7942.
