Person Shot on Evansville's East Side

Police are investigating in Evansville after a shooting on the city's east side.

An investigation is underway in Evansville after one person was shot Wednesday.

According to the Evansville Police Department, the shooting happened on Eden Drive, just east of N. Green River Road.

Officers were originally dispatched to the area for a fight in progress just before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

They were told by witnesses that two men were fighting in the parking lot of the Eastland Apartments complex when one of the men pulled a gun on the other.

"Officers were in the area rather quickly and located the victim who had a single gunshot wound," EPD Sgt. Anna Gray said. "It appeared to be non-life-threatening at this time."

We're told the victim was able to speak with officers and provide information on a suspect, but no arrests have been made at this time.
