Owensboro Sports Broadcaster Steve Baker Passes Away at 69

Steve Baker spent many years providing radio coverage and interviews of western Kentucky high school and college sports.

Sad news coming to sports supporters, athletes, and coaches in Owensboro and surrounding communities.

Owensboro and Daviess County sports enthusiast and broadcaster Steve Baker passed away late Tuesday night surrounded by friends and family.

Baker spent the last few days in hospice care in Owensboro.

Before his stint in radio broadcasting, Baker worked for Century Aluminum in Hancock County for many years, interviewing athletes and coaches.

Steve Baker and his infectious laugh will be missed by many in the Tri-State for years to come.

The Lewisport native was 69.
