The Perry County Sheriff's Office is warning drivers to stay off roads with high water.

The warning comes after deputies and other first responders were called out to State Road 66 north of Derby on Friday for a vehicle submerged in the high water.

According to deputies, a woman and child were able to climb out of the submerged car and hang on to a tree while they awaited rescue.

Meanwhile, a witness came to their aid and the Good Samaritan was able to pull the woman and child to safety before rescue crews arrived.

Thankfully, everyone was safe.
