The Henderson Police Department is asking the public to be cautious when getting behind the wheel Wednesday.
The department said Wednesday morning that it was working over a dozen accidents, with other first responders around the county doing much of the same.
Officers responded to one accident in the area of Old Madisonville Road, where a salt truck had rolled over off the side of the road.
In the area of Kentucky 136 just before the intersection at 41 South, first responders were assisting another vehicle that had slid off the road due to black ice:
HPD also gave caution to motorists traveling on the Twin Bridges between Henderson and Evansville, calling the bridges and overpasses extremely dangerous.
"Please use extreme caution if you have to get out," one HPD Officer said Wednesday. "If you don't have to get out, I suggest staying at home. First responders all over the county are working multiple accidents due to vehicle accidents due to black ice."
