No Injuries Reported After Dust Combustion at Green Plains Plant in Mt. Vernon

Emergency crews in Posey County responded to a reported explosion at the Green Plains plant on Thursday to discover that a dust combustion had occurred.

No injuries were reported after an incident at the Green Plains ethanol plant in Mt. Vernon, Indiana on Thursday.

Emergency crews initially responded to the plant on W. Franklin Road around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday after a grain elevator reportedly exploded there.

The Posey County Sheriff's Office says first responders discovered there had been a dust combustion in an elevator shaft at the plant.

No damage was reported at the plant.
