From the low 80s Wednesday, we are walking out the door to mid 40s this Thursday morning. Evansville dipped down to a chilly 46°. It's even feeling cooler thanks to a combination of blustery northerly winds and dew points in the low 40s. So this is a good sign that we won't be getting a big warm up today.

Today's high temperatures should be in the low 70s under partly cloudy skies. It's going to be another day of breezy conditions, too. Gusts could be reaching 30 mph at times.

The real chill is moving in tonight into Friday morning! Clear and cool conditions that morning will set the stage for what may end up being our coolest day since mid to early May. That morning's low of 42° looks as though it will be our coolest recorded temperature since the morning of May 11th and things don't get much better from there. A lingering weak northerly wind will only allow highs to top out at 62° later that day, marking our coolest afternoon since May 13th!

Wednesday morning marked our coldest start to a day in nearly 3 weeks - morning low temperatures dove into the single digits for much of the Tri-State and our northerly winds routinely drove wind chill values well below zero throughout the Lower Ohio Valley. If there was any silver lining, our clear skies did allow temperatures to climb back into the mid 20s later in the day; though Evansville’s peak temperature of 25° remained 17° below average for this time of the year. The clear skies are expected to linger throughout the evening and much of the night ahead and will allow temperatures to fall back down into the mid to low teens early Thursday morning. We will fall to 14° in Evansville around daybreak Thursday.
