"Everything has been taken away, we cant have birthdays, we couldn't have easter, we cant have anything like that" says Pike County resident Dana Fidler.

With just over 12,000 people in Pike County, the Coronavirus has taken a toll on the community. 244 total cases have swept through the small community, so far.

"The kids are going back to school. I worry about my grandson in school, you know" Fidler goes on to say "The front-line workers you have to give credit to them".

The Pike County Health Department says their large increase is connected to a long-term care facility in the county.

27 employees and 36 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

"My parents are older too, but they're not in a nursing home, I worry about them everyday, but yeah I am scared of it (COVID-19)"

According to the Indiana Department of Health says just over 15% of Pikes County's population has taken a COVID-19 test.

"If you wear your mask, wash your hands and do as you're told, I think everything will be ok"

We're tracking more active weather that's expected to hit our area early to late afternoon. All eyes are on a cold front moving in from the northwest. It looks as though some of the storms embedded within this line of rainfall may produce both wind gusts in excess of 40 or 50 mph along with pockets of large hail. As a result, the Storm Prediction Center of America has placed the majority of the Tri-State under a "1" on the Threat index for this afternoon and early evening. Our far southwestern communities are under a Slight Risk "2" - those communities include portions of Illinois (Saline, Hamilton, Gallatin, White, Hardin Counties) and Kentucky (Union, Crittenden, Caldwell Counties).
